EUROPEAN JUNIOR LONG COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS was held from June 28 to July 2 in Netanya, Israel.

Energy Standard swimmers represented Russian and Ukrainian national teams at the most awaited junior event this season:

Day I

On the first day the Russian team won a bronze medal in the 4x100m freestyle relay with a results of 3:17.99. The team was represented by Kolesnikov Kliment, Vladimir Dubinin, Ivan Girev and Karasev Gleb.

Day II

On the second day of the championships Kolesnikov Kliment won a silver medal in the 100m backstroke with a result of 54.69, which was just 0.09 seconds slower than the winner, Stokovski Kasper (54.60) from Poland.

Kolesnikov Kliment and Dubinin Vladimir represented national team in the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, coming away with the Silver medal.


On the third day of competition, Kesil Denis from Ukraine won a bronze medal in the 200m butterfly, in a time of 1:58.19.

In the 4x200m freestyle relay, the Russian national team won a Silver medal with a new Youth National! Girev Ivan finished this event with a huge personal best result - 1:47.34.

Alena Chekhovskikh won a gold medal as a part of the Russian team in the 4x100m Medley Relay.

Day IV

This was the most successful day for Kolesnikov Kliment, who won Gold in the final of the 200m Backstroke. He was far away from his rivals and came to the finish the first 1:57.73. Kliment also won Gold in the sprint distance 50m Backstroke with a result of 25.15.

In the 4x200m medley mixed relay the team of Russia finished the race with the second fastest time (3:51.84); being represented by Kolesnikov Kliment, Somov Evgeniy, Egorova Polina and Buinaya Vasilisa.

Day V

On the last day of Junior’s in the Final of the 200m Freestyle event, Girev Ivan won Bronze in a time of 1 min 48 sec.

The Russian National team won the Silver Medal in the 4x100m Medley Relay. Our guys set up a new Youth National Record of Russia! Congratulations Kolesnikov Kliment, Somov Evgeniy, Egor Kuimov and Girev Ivan.
