The Energy Standard Elite Team has competed in the famous mediterranean "MARE NOSTRUM» tournament, which has included three legs:

• Monaco June 10-11
• Barcelona June 13-14
• Canet-en-Roussillon June 17-18

Since 2005, the Italian leg in Rome has been excluded from the tournament and from that time another famous and amazing swimming event held in Rome - “Sette Colli".

At the first leg in Monaco nine elite swimmers have represented our club:

Cameron VAN DER BURGH confidently won duel in the 50 Breast race with a meet record - 26.99!

Ben Proud in the 50 m freestyle finished his semi-final with the third time - 21.99, what is just 0.05 seconds slower than result of Finnish swimmer Ari Pekka Luikkonen.

The youngest swimmer who has represented our club at the tournament, Mary-Sophie Harvey, was unbeatable in the 400m freestyle (4:12.26) and got a Silver medal in the  400m IM (4:38.73).

Darina Zevina won Bronze medal with her best result this season in the 200m Backstroke event - 2.09.84.

In Barcelona, ​​the club was represented just by Cameron van Der Burgh, due to the preparation the rest of elite team to the international swimming meeting "Sette Colli" which will be held on 23-25 ​​June in Rome.

Cameron proved his champion’s title this time as well, he headed the 50m Breaststroke event with a result 26.96! In the longer event, Cameron took Silver with a result 1:00.02.

At the final leg of the Mare Nostrum tournament in Canet-en-Roussillon, fellow South African Olympic Champ Chad Le Clos joined teammate van Der Burgh as the only two ES representatives.

Cameron van Der Burgh finished Mare Nostrum tournament with another victory in the distance 50m Breaststroke with a result 27.07!

Chad Le Clos got two Bronze medals in the 100m and 200m Butterfly events, posting times of 51.92 and 1:56.64.

The overall pointscore for this year’s edition of the Mare Nostrum was won by ES’ own Cameron van Der Burgh on the mens side, and unbeaten Swedish superstar Sarah Sjostrom on the women’s side.
